Banksy Walking Tours

Unless you've been living in isolation for the last decade, you'll be aware of Banksy, the world famous stencil/mural artist with an edge to his work. Banksy's art now fetches hundreds of thousands of pounds and is testament of how a kid from back street Bristol found fame and fortune by simply scrawling stuff on walls. There are still early examples of his artistic talent hidden around the city and what better way to discover it than a walking tour. Whether you dig graffiti art or just art in general it is a fascinating insight into Bristol's love affair with their home grown artist. His work has appeared around the world, from London to L.A. And whilst some early pieces no long exist locally, there is still enough to get a flavour for what helped propel Banksy to stardom.

Arnolfini

If you're into contemporary arts then Arnolfini is the place to be in Bristol. Arnolfini was founded in 1961 to provide a stage for visual arts, performance, dance, film, music and events within Bristol and to help ensure the city's creative spirit remains prevalent. Make your way to Bristol's harbourside in the heart of the city for what has already been a finalist in the Art Fund’s Museum of the Year, “recognised for its commitment to broadening participation and engagement with the arts”. This charity run attraction welcomes donations as away of providing its arts free for all. There's an exciting programme of events from topics such as feminism, to spoken word and art film screenings.
