The Green Heart Festival
The Green Heart Festival is transforming the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus. The 12 acres of parkland is a communal space for students, staff and the local community to enjoy, providing a unique space for entertainment, socialising and study. The Green Heart want to celebrate this space in the form of an ambitious year-long festival, which will involve students, staff, partners and the local community. Celebrations started with the family-friendly launch weekend June 2019, with free activities, open to all. Over the following 12 months, The Green Heart work with students, staff, community groups and partners to deliver a series of events in the Green Heart that reflect the seasonal changes in the space. With a strong link to the University’s research and education, the Festival will develop a creative and innovative experience to develop a legacy that will live beyond 2020.
