DeRoka

You might think that we don’t need yet another Mediterranean restaurant in the city, but DeRoKa is different. This independent family-owned restaurant takes you on a flavour adventure, combining fresh ingredients and traditional recipes to produce mouth-watering dishes, all fired up on their traditional charcoal grill. And, the Mediterranean inspiration doesn’t stop at the food. With a large selection of Turkish wines and, of course, bottles of Efes to choose from, DeRoKa turns a dinner-stop into an evening out. Blossom Room

The highly anticipated Blossom Room, opened its doors late last year. Diners are invited into a Japanese-inspired step away from reality, “where the theatre of food and drink is served.” The cherry blossom ceiling and stunning murals (by local artist Luke McDonnell) are accompanied by a delectable menu inspired by global travels. From vegetable tempura and tofu stir fry to southern fried chicken and chocolate churros - whatever destination you fancy, the Blossom Room serves. And, to wash it all down with is an extensive selection of signature cocktails with a Japanese twist.

twenty out of ten

Just when we thought Fourth & Fifth couldn’t get any better, they introduce twenty out of ten into our lives. Residing in our very own coffee and brunch stop, this new establishment brings fine dining to the city, without the fine dining preconceptions. Chefs Shane and Aaron Clarke have combined the three ‘g’s (good ingredients, good venue and good company) to deliver a weekly menu that showcases seasonal ingredients, local suppliers, and home-grown talent. The Whisk Kitchen & Bar

Who could forget that the month of love coincides with the month of pancakes - making Woburn Sand’s The Whisk Kitchen & Bar the perfect spot to celebrate. Cooking up “granny’s pancakes”, the Whisk team have turned the heat up on the traditional milk and flour batter; introducing bold flavours and unusual ingredients. Alongside a wide selection of sweet and savoury pancakes, is also an alluring cocktail menu, featuring bespoke creations such as the Brazilian Bramble and Vanilla Espresso. And, for the budding chefs among you, you can also make your own pancake creations from the pick and mix menu. Greek Affaire

Speaking of pancakes, Stony Stratford’s famous creperie has travelled south-east, opening up a sister restaurant aptly named Greek Affaire.
